For so long, I've used that "we're bet...Here, here! For so long, I've used that "we're better moms" for taking time for ourselves logic as a means of appeasing the guilt. As if I needed a reason for time away. But you're right: it only feeds into the kid-centeredness. Not to say we AREN'T better moms for taking care of ourselves, but as always the key should be to be the best people or Christ-servers or whatever. Wise insight. I'm sure I'll quote on you this at some point. : )Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25552831.post-20724983413357242972008-08-25T11:31:00.000-05:002008-08-25T11:31:00.000-05:00Sharon,Thanks for commenting. We do our kids a big favor...Insightful and so true.

We do our kids a big favor when we start teaching them at an early age that all of life is not about them. They may not "get it" then, but it becomes familiar and a part of life, easier to accept the truth of it, sometimes years down the road. We also model humility in this way for our children. In the same way life is not all about them, it is also not all about us. And isn't that a Jesus teaching?Sharon Baker-Johnsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11136732430674238005noreply@blogger.com
